Yeah, a couple of factors in that feud:
One, Motley stole the graphics for the early Quiet Riot logo for their own logo. Kevin supposedly confronted Nikki about it and actually kicked his ass physically over it.
The other is that Kevin in interviews has said that he and Randy met with Nikki to consider him for Quiet Riot, but that Nikki couldn't play to the point where Randy said "This song is in the key of F" and Nikki said, "Where's F?". So they didn't go further.
Nikki, in eulogizing Kevin after his death, lied about this and said that they wanted him in the band but that he passed on them.
He got the last laugh, Motley were a lot bigger than QR in the end. But Motley got signed 5 years after that meeting, during which he learned to play bass and write songs.
Kinda shitty of him to basically call the guy a liar when he was supposedly paying tribute to him upon his death, but Nikki is known for making things up, so I guess it's no surprise.
