rabbit help!!!!

One of my rabbits had babies today and she kicked them all out of the nest and cage. When I found them they were on the ground with fire ants all over them. 6 have died but 2 are still here and are acting like they are very hardy. I need some info on how to hand care for them..... I'm looking up stuff on google but its not very helpful.

I raised a kitten from when she was about a day old. This has to be a lot like your situation.

I went to the vet and bought kitten formula, fed Vixie every couple hours with a tiny bottle, and made sure she was able to use the bathroom (you may have to stimulate them with a warm cloth). I kept her in a little box with blankets and a heating pad.

usually when you get a female that does that, they go on the grill or smoker. She wont ever take care of her litter. Next time she may eat them. I have never heard of you being able to hand care for them. What kind of nesting box did you have ? What was in the nesting box ? How long before giving birth did you put the nesting box in the cage ? Let me know and we will see if the female is worth keeping.

also, put ant killer all around the cages, the ants sometimes will crawl up into the cages and get the babies in the nesting box.

i didn't have a nesting box in there because she wasn't suppossed to be pregnant. The lady before me must have bred her and not told me. But when i found them they had rabbit bites all over them....most of them did. And when i got the ants off of them and moved them to a safer cage with a nest, and put the mother with them she stomped most of them to death. We grabbed them as fast as we could but only two made it.

I had that happen before also. I would try to breed her again. If she doesnt take care of them the next time, the grill would be lit. For some reason if you dont follow the pattern right they dont take care of them. BUT, I have had some no matter what not take care of them. I had that same situation where I had no idea the doe was pregnant and she didnt take care of the litter. But the next time I followed all the schedule she was fine and had some of the most beautiful rabbits you could find. She was the only one that would produce red rabbits. I sold a couple of them for big bucks. (dollars)

I had it happen one time.
I saved all but one.
It may have been still born.
Matter of fact I used kitten formila from the vet with an eye dropper.

Sounds like the doe is ready for eatin'.

She knocked her cage over today and it killed her. And the babies didn't make it through the day.

yep gotta sell some babies first...lol. I have one expecting. I just hope she isn't loopy like the last one.
