Scott Weiland's Goin' to Jail

Rock star Scott Weiland has just been sentenced to 192 hours in county jail for his November DUI arrest. This is Weiland's second DUI offense. He has until May 28 to serve the sentence.

Scott, who was not present in court today, entered a no contest plea through his attorney, Anthony Brooklier. The former Velvet Revolver singer was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol program and pay almost $2,000 in fines. He will be put on a four-year summary probation.

Weiland was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior conviction, and with an allegation that he refused a chemical test as required by law. We are told he was over the legal limit of .08%, but not by much.

According to the police report, he failed the field sobriety tests and refused to take a blood or urine test. He was booked for DUI and released on $40,000 bail.

This is a reply I made to another thread about VR firing Scott Weiland and the hype of an STP reunion.....enjoy:

I loved guns, loved VR and will probably love anything that slash is involved with. he is the reason i started playing guitar in the first place. before deciding on weiland they actually tried out the singer from buckcherry and one of the songs they were working on ended up being used by buckcherry and was called crazy bitch.....betcha didn't know that.

i liked corabi in the crue too. he would be an interesting choice. aside from the voice they should definitely go with someone who either never had big drug issues or has been over it for a long time like dave mustaine (not a vocal example but an example of someone that doesn't pose a huge threat of being arrested for heroin half way through a tour)

having said that, I predict that the stp tour will not go off without a hitch. I'm sure there will be cancellations/postponements or an early ending b/c of weiland's addiction. and when it happens I'll bring this post back up and say "told ya so"

It amazes me that rockstars with that much money are driving themselves around while drunk. Can't he afford a Limo or a Cab ?

I've often wondered about that too. Like Paris Hilton for instance. Which I'm glad she was in jail because she makes me want to puke.

There were maybe 2 decent songs on No. 4. I really haven't been an STP fan per se for a while now.
Vince Neil has partied harder than Scott ever will, and he's not in jail...
