I'd never seen the Genpets site before- it's really well-done and looks real! I was getting a little creeped out too, but was just sure it couldn't be real, especially considering some of the FAQ questions and answers. If you google it you'll find that it's just an art installation that's been exhibited in the US and Canada. That site sure looks real though!

I didn't realize they had hypoallergenic cats- I thought the only option out there was the Sphinx:

I bet the hypoallergenics will sell MUCH better!

The genpet concept just freaks me out. The thought of those 'things' around my kids...like I saw a horror movie in my head

I don't know, they run from $4,900 to $31,000! My baby sister is highly allergic to cats yet really likes them, but not enough to drop $5 grand on one! Plus they make you spay or neuter them, so you can't even buy a pair and breed them!

there cute! but umm yea i think i'll keep my cat the way he is.. with fur. lol. but at least you can dress those cats in sweaters and all kinds of stuff.... thats what i would do hehe
