Rep Power: 0 | | | Everything in this country has gone excessive/extreme,nothing is taboo here anymore and there is a whole lot of bad shit on the horizon coming our way countrywide and worldwide. I've got a 6 year old daughter and i'm scared to death about her future.

You seem to be level headed and have a good heart so you and your parents did something right.
I'm glad I didn't have any more children because of the way things are. I wouldn't want to bring another child into this world but I don't want the two that I have to be biased against having their own when the time comes because of my views. I try not to express it in front of either of them. I have told them though that it is something to think really hard about because it's not like having a puppy.

If they act up beat the snot of them.
The parents should accept the fact that if their child acts up in school he will get a whipping.
If you let kids run amok, they will.
Time out doesn't do squat.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the boys family, and friends.

I have a GOOD friend who's brother hit a 5 year old boy when he was 16. Everyone blamed the mother for letting
him drive, but everyone else his age had a car too, he wasn't drunk, he just didn't see the boy... | I disagree with you, just because you had a child at 17 does not make you a bad person. What makes someone a bad person is having the kid and not taking the responsibility of the child. From what I know of you your a good person.
One of my sons friends had a child at the same age and she is a douche bag / bad person / user.

Son is a Marine now with a change of orders going to Iraq and daughter is going to USM. I worry so much about their children.

I have been all over the world and those places that have these forms of punishments while are not crime free the crime level is way below anything we have. The justice system has swayed to the rights of the person who committed the crime and those who are victimized no longer have rights. Ask any one whois a victim and see what happened to the person who commited the crime. Kill someone and its a first offense your out in 10 years on good behavior, but that family is without a family member. We are so worried about the rights of those in jail with cruel and unusual punishment, I bet they didn't give a shit about the person they raped, or killed.

Rep Power: 51 | | | I've had this convo before. But kids are threatening other kids lives in 1st grade. It starts so early now. But I don't know about the bad parents thing. Kids have free will just like us and they use it. You can spank them and do everything you know to stop them from being unrully. But they can still choose to listen or not. Some kids are just hard headed. And a parent that has more than one kid knows this. That you can raise them both under the same roof and with the same discipline, but they will more than likely have completely different attitudes wants and ideas. |
