If walmart wanted the money the insurance put out for her injuries, they should have sued the responsible party as well, not take that poor womans settlement.

If you read the article you'll see that this is a bigger thing than just Wal-Mart. Looks like it is spurred by the terms of the medical insurers.

You might want to look at your own health insurance's terms, as you could be subject to the same thing. If you get hurt, better have your lawyer go for enough to pay back your insurance company AND take care of you, or you'll probably get screwed.

i don't see where walmart is in the wrong. the family was paid twice for these injuries. they are only going after what they paid in her medical fees which were awarded by the trucking company in the lawsuit.

they didn't sue them for enough money if medical expenses was the only thing the suit settlement covered, if she is unable to work... I still hate walmart, and lawyers too.

If Wal-Mart wasn't there, it'd be Jones-Mart or Smith-Mart. Our culture and economy has basically evolved so that there will be an apex retailer, and Wal-Mart is it.

And again, look at your own medical insurance. Your employer may well come after you to get its money back if you get a disabling illness too. Wal-Mart didn't invent this, it's the insurance companies who did. Gee, what a shock!

Out of having to have insurance, is the only reason I have any at all.

I'll drive 20 miles out of my way to avoid going to walmart.
Target is across the street in Mobile, but they are almost as bad selling cheap chinese shyt, and bad food.
