Rep Power: 0 | | | What are you waiting for? Get out and vote. If you do not realize how important today's election is, then I suggest you climb out from under your rock and still go vote! Because hey, even if your candidate does not win, you can't bitch if you don't vote. And who wants to lose that right? |

People do not seem to realize that living in such a small state means you actually do have quite a voice. When I was growing up in California, elections were won and lost by hundreds of thousands of votes. Last night I watched as the precints reported with some people winning by less than one hundred votes! I understand people's frustrations regarding the national elections and the f'd up electoral stuff, but the state elections? The elections that truly effect your day to day life? It's very important folks. |

I'm not a MS resident.
I'm a FL resident.
But I don't live in FL. So why vote in FL?
I'm moving to TX, but I can't vote in TX, yet. |

Rep Power: 21 | | | I'm a registered voter, and being one will get you tons of mail. Not just the usual bills and junk mail, but political "postcards." So Sunday I'm weeding through all the trash mail for the bills when I find an envelope from Gayle Parker, the Harrison County Circuit Clerk. I disregarded it as another "vote for me" piece when I thought better of it and ripped it open. It's a summons to jury duty. Thank goodness I opened it, or I'd been in contempt.
Another reason to register; you get to be a juror!!!
Actually, I don't mind. I like to see how our judicial system works, and I get a break from work. Plus, I get two checks... that helps too. |

Rep Power: 47 | | | this is kinda like religion. people have their own beliefs and its hard to sway someone one way or another. What I can't stand is, like the religious hypocrites who want you to believe in what they believe in, otherwise your 'bad', politics, which can be the same way. Many a debate over who is better to run an office of 'our' government goes on, and I understand thats how things are done, but,
who says that your 1 vote counts. Its just 'our' governments way of saying "this IS a democracy", and your vote counts. well it doesn't. Somewhere in some overpaid boardroom, by overpaid 'elected' officials, all of 'our' countries decisions are made.
And getting back to my point, what I can't stand are the people out there that look down on you because you believe in something different. I don't know you Andrea, but from your post, it just proves to me again that there are some people who will never see the side of 'our' government that is the big picture. I keep all this to myself, because no one likes to be told they are "sad" for feeling the way they do, whether it be politics, religion or any other strong subject. You stay with your kind, and I'll stick with mine. And don't tell me I'm sad for being this way. My life is pretty grand as it is, and I don't vote, and I'm not christian.
