| Yeah im glad that trend is over. Even better, im glad the record industry has less control over what trend is to become popular next in the new ballgame.
Im hoping to see another major shift in music in the next few years. Maybe something more with a jazz influence, or even punk/ska. Stuff with a horn section or at least a saxophone. Different beats and rhythms. Seems like almost everything that can be done with a guitar, bass, and drums has been done to death over and over. Can't recall the last time I heard a really good original band that didn't sound like Creed, 3DD, or a lame version of Tool, Disturbed, or Metallica.
Im sure they're out there, just hasn't been picked up by radio or popular media yet.
Its disheartening to turn on the radio and hear the same classic rock songs all the time. (I know, turn the channel, right ?) To what ? country ? no thanks. Just not enough variety out there.
IMO - just me.
