If you think a shim will help, just loosen the strings and unscrew the neck bolts enough to slip in a heavy-gauge guitar pick to the back of the neck pocket where it meets the body. Then retighten the neck screws and retune the bass and see if it helps. It doesn't take that much to make a difference.

That will change the angle of the neck enough to make a difference. Can't hurt to try it and it's free!

It takes 13 guitar players to change the bulb. ONE to have it together enough to actually get up and do it,,,,,,, and a DOZEN more to sit out there and say "OH HELL, I CAN DO THAT,,,,,THAT GUY DON'T SHOW ME SHIT!
