Rep Power: 20 | | | WORK ETHIC! What the hell is wrong with people now? No one wants to work and when they do get a job they don't want to actually work for the paycheck!!
Case in point. A girl we hired (she's 21) has been here a month and a half.. has called in sick 2 times since she was hired.. and today a no call no show! She is lazy, and doesn't care that she was doing shit wrong when it was pointed out to her so this is probably a blessing in disguise, but damn! My job is very important to me.. I have worked hard to get where I am.. the test I took to become a licensed insurance agent was the hardest test i've ever taken in my life. I made a 72. Barely passing but I was damn proud of that 72! And honestly her job wasn't that bad.. she filed papers and folder letters and stuffed envelopes for 8.00 an hour. Come on you could be flipping burgers and covered in grease every day but no you sit at a desk and file a few papers..
What the hell!

We have the same problem where I work.
When you are raised in a scociety that caters to everyone (liberaism) and
you don't have parents that don't teach the differance between getting some help,
and working hard to catch up......
and just mooching off the system.
you end up with a scociety that just breeds lazy mother fuckers. |

Kids these days (including some 21 yr olds) don't want to work. They would rather sit on their asses and play XBox or playstation games. Their parents have been their safety net all their lives and they aren't worried abut getting fired.
We live in an entitlement society. Most ppl have no drive or vigor, and they want instant gratification, like a drive thru fast food place. " Gimmie everything I want right now and I don't want to pay or put in any effort for it."
My gosh I sound like my Dad, Thanks alot Roxy....

Rep Power: 20 | | | And the fact that people who do sit on their asses everyday can get practically anything they want from the government but someone who works every day and strives to provide for their family but can barely make ends meet can get nothing. UGH!

Rep Power: 14 | | | I'm cocktailing right now and making pretty damn good money ($450 on a Sunday night) and it's the same fucking thing. All we have to do is walk around and ask/refill people's drinks, we have 'sections' and this girl (she JUST turned 21) not only went on about 8 'smoke breaks' in two hours, but disappeared completely off the floor at least 5 times! Then she had the fucking nerve to ask me if I'd split tips with her because "I had her section for so long"....BITCH YOU LEFT and I had to cover the whole floor! I'm only 4 years older than her, but I feel like we're worlds apart... it's that age...my sister's the same way, she worked for a lawyer that was going to PAY for her to go to school for law and she stopped showing up for work because she would go out and party...FUCKING NUTS! |

UGH! | UGH...you're telling me!!! Mark hurt his neck and we had to BEG just to get seen and still got denied for everything. He makes less than $300 a week now...we don't qualify for ANYTHING because his gross is over $500 a week, even though they take out $200 for insurance alone! AND even that and his 401k (that we've stopped putting into b/c of his disability) is used against us. We have THREE kids and only qualified to get WIC, which gives us 3 gallons of milk (we go through that in a week), a pound of chease, two dozen eggs, 3 bottles of juice and 3 boxes of cereal a month! |

$450 on a Sunday night!?! Do you have to do it topless? If that's the case I'll have to keep my day job.

And while i'm on a soapbox.. I could have beat a mexican over the head with my car tag that he tried to steal Saturday night. Thank god I thought of begging the guy at the gate to let me park there and walked back to my car when he was walking off with my tag and then he had the nerve to rattle some spanish off and look at me like I was the stupid one. BASTARD!
