Rep Power: 30  | ARMY RE-ENLISTMENTS...Up or Down since 2001? You may think that with constant deployments and 5 years of war in Iraq and Afghanastan that enlistment rates would be down. You'd be wrong. They are up by 20,000 or a re-enlistment rate of 70%. The reason? talk amoungst yourselves....... |

Rep Power: 40  | My son graduated from boot camp a few months ago and is now at Ft. Campbell, KY for jump school. He wants to go to war. He's always been a bit odd. Must take after his dad...

Patrotism is a huge reason to be sure. But so are the $20-$40,000 bonuses! I think that many of our troops feel like they want to "finish what they started". That mixed with a fat bonus helps. Many don't have much else going for them back home... war is all they know. Some LOVE it. I can see all points, personally. | |
