Well let's actually look at the bill:

Now let's look at section 601

Section 601 discusses the eligibility "requirements" (non-requirements is more like it) for the Z-visa program. It sets up three categories of Z-visa. Z-1 is a "nonimmigrant" who has been in the US since 1/1/2007 (that's right just SIX MONTHS) and is employed or going to school. Z-2 and Z-3 appears to be for the spouses, children, and ex-spouses (if the relationship ended in domestic violence within two years of the application) of a valid Z-1 "non-immigrant" (ps you've got to love the Orwellian newspeak of an immigration bill for "non-immigrants"). Now the Z-1 applicants have to pay a processing fee and a $1,000 fine. The Z-2's and Z-3's don't have to pay ANY fine.

So Mr Bush YOUR OWN GOD-DAMN BILL GRANTS OUTRIGHT AMNESTY (by your own definition) TO THE Z-2's and Z-3's! Furthermore, it provides a measly $1,000 FINE for the Z-1's.

So if you were in Mexico and wished to come here would you pay thousands and wait years to go through the legal process or hell just walk over with your parents and kids, pay $1,000 and claim you've been here for six months? In answering that question you do realize that there is NO WAY whatsoever that we will be able to verify how long they've been here.

Also, of course the damn bill cuts the ammount of fence we WERE going to build on the border from 750 miles down to a little over 300. Now at the same time Mr Bush is saying we can defend an 1800 mile long border with 300 miles of fence HE is pulling agents from the Transportation Security Administration to provide MORE secret service protection to the presidential canidates.

So Mr Bush, if you can protect 1800 miles with 300 miles of fence (roughly 20% of what is needed) why can't you PROTECT yourself with 20% of your secret service detail and let Obama and Hillary do the same???

As I've said before Wil, thanks for posting the link to contact our senators/reps. People really need to get behind this and let our government know who's in charge. I just don't see how this retarded bill protects our borders as well as Mexico protects theirs.

Well folks the BushKennedy crowd has been claiming that this bill will "secure the border".

Today the US Senate voted AGAINST an amendment which would have forbade FELONS from aquiring legal status!! Yes, you read that correctly. Sen John Cornyn offered the amendment. I would post a link here but the drive-bys are too concerned with Pris Hilton's jail stay and so haven't covered it yet.

So Cornyn offers the amendment which the BushKennedy crowd opposed because stealing social secutiry numbers is a felony and so "too many" illegals would be affected.

Soooo Kennedy offers an amendment which says sex-offenders and former gang members would be prohibited from getting legal status. (in the original bill the gang member could sign a document repudiating his gang affiliation and we'd give him legal status. Hell, if we can get those murderers to sign a piece of paper saying they won't kill again we could save prison space and let them go to!!!) Which I guess mean that murderers, drug kingpins, extortionists, traitors, kidnappers, and mafiosa types etc are just fine with Kennedy.(we already knew that drunk drivers were fine with him)

The Senate voted for Kennedy's amendment and against Cornyn's.
So basically we shouldn't worry about legalizing FELONS!!!

Couple that with an article Mr Cornyn wrote and the ONLY conclusion one can come to is that the BushKennedy crowd want MORE illegal immigration.

Folks, ANYONE who supports this bill can not credibly maintain that they are "securing the borders". This bill does exactly the opposite.

I challenge ANYONE on the other side to come on this board and tell me how this bill "secures the border"!!!
