Oh, by the way, Spert, THIS is distinguishable from companies (oil or otherwise) trying to cut their OWN emisions. THAT is actually good corporate citizenship. This (carbon offsets) is merely a thinly disguised ponzi scheme whereby big polluters like Al Gore are given a pass. The article mentions the "effectiveness" of companies planting trees (hello Arnold Schwartzenegger) to offset carbon.

You know last week I was saying that based on the "carbon offset logic" if Hitler would have just donated to the Jewish Defense League the liberals would maintain that he wasn't anti-semitic.
I was wrong. But cut me some slack, how was I to know that the liberals would top their own standards of hypocrisy. That's right. Under the currently accepted Gore-carbon-offset-morality, Hitler most definitely was NOT an anti-semite. Al Gore is paying himself to pollute and Hitler was paying himself (as head of the German gov't) to kill the jews so Ellie Wiesel step aside. Hitler was a strong supporter of jewish causes worldwide!!!!
