Rep Power: 44 ![]() | The Crying Game Two days ago New Hampshire women validated EVERY NEGATIVE STEREOTYPE about women by voting for a woman BECAUSE she cried. For those who don't know, Hillary was asked why she was running at which point she broke down in tears answering the question. Now Wilthrill isn't totally heartless. For example if a candidate was told that his/her kid had just been killed in an auto accident, I could see them shedding a few tears. But ANY candidate who cries when asked WHY they are running is either: too big of a pussy to be president or too god-damn phony to be president. And yet these IDIOT disgraces to their gender came out in droves and voted for Hillary SOLELY because she cried. http://shakespearessister.blogspot.c...k-clinton.html This is just one example the author blaming women's fury over the "overt misogyny" directed at Clinton. Ok first off do any of you feminist idiots remember Ed Muskie? Muskie watched his campaign for president go the way of the Titanic after he broke down and cried at a campaign stop. For the record Muskie was a MAN and was castigated unmercifully (and rightfully so) for crying. Secondly if you will vote for a woman just because she cries then you are as stupid and frail as men used to treat you and you DESERVE to be discriminated against!!!! |

Rep Power: 11 ![]() | I think a woman COULD be a great president. Just NOT that one. And she's a total phony. Everything about her is, from her marriage to her so-called compassion.

Rep Power: 44 ![]() | Of course a woman could be a great President. And that is what makes me so mad about this. Women have been discriminated against since the dawn of time. With respect to leadership the main reason historically given in this country for not electing a woman is that women are WEAK!!! THAT IS UTTER BULLSHIT!!! And yet here comes this woman who plays EXACTLY to that stereotype. She allegedly "won't bake cookies" but she will cry at the drop of a hat???? And then her IDIOT supporters say, "well you men are being mean to her solely because she is a woman" when even they have to know that is bullshit (see the bit about Ed Muskie above). I'll say it again. If you are voting for Hillary just because the men are being mean to her then you are an idiot who DESERVES to be discriminated against. YOU ARE TOO WEAK TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY AND THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR GENDER!!! |

Rep Power: 43 ![]() | What a bunch of bullshit spin! If a man is being emphatic, he's passionate. When Hillary is, she's being a bitch. When she's strong and stoic, she's the "Ice Queen". When she shows some emotion, she's weak. If people voted for her after she "cried" (which she didn't), then Mrs. Clinton obviously tapped into the way other people feel. Because of who she is, some people are going to hate her no matter what she does.

Rep Power: 39 ![]() | I was flipping through the channels on my Sirius when this happened, and got sick of hearing about it real quick. Then I got home and it was on TV. No big deal to me. Lets get back to talking about Britney! |

Rep Power: 44 ![]() | I have to disagree with you Mikael. See Ed Muskie for an example of a man being "empathetic" and getting BLISTERED for it. He wasn't the strongest candidate to begin with but his whole campaign went down the tubes the moment he started crying and political historians will tell you exactly that. A more recent example was when Hillary first ran for the Senate. She was debating Rich Lazio who had the unmitigated gall to actually move about the stage. The press ran with it the next day saying Lazio was "intimidating the poor woman" and the rest is history. So Lazio, a MAN,trying to be energetic and passionate was interpreted as "aggressive" in a BAD WAY!!!! And ironically the only reason he was "aggressive" was because he was debating a WOMAN. Had it been another man there would not have been a word said about it. Do women get stereotyped? Sure they do. BUT so do men!!! Also it is the FEMINISTS (not just I)who are saying that Hillary won in NH because WOMEN were mad about the men bullying her. Given that the men are NOT bullying her, THAT is entirely different than tapping into genuine emotion that the voters feel. You know one of my criteria for voting for any candidate is that they don't tell us how STRONG they are while complaining about how WEAK they are. |

Rep Power: 43 ![]() | I agree Wil, it's kind of a double standard either way. As for Hillary winning because the media hype about her "crying", it could be true-but I think she really won because independent voters saw the polls saying Obama was going to win, and decided to push for McCain. We'll have to talk about Hillary declaring "No woman is illegal!" on another thread, lol!

Rep Power: 44 ![]() | Well the stats that I have seen show that WOMEN overwhelmingly voted for Hillary in New Hampshire. Couple that with SEVERAL articles the next few days from WOMEN saying that the WOMEN voted for Hillary because of the "overt misogony" of the men and this is why I'm mad. There was no misgony (sp) overt or otherwise in that campaign. Hillary's gender has only been an issue because SHE MADE IT AN ISSUE!!! It was her husband who said the men were "bullying her". It was and is Hillary herself who in the VERY SAME PARAGRAPH will say, "I'm not running because I am a woman, but you should vote for me because I am a woman. For example, Hillary has trotted out the "90 year-old woman wanting to vote for her" story SEVERAL TIMES NOW! It goes like this: "I was talking to a 90 year-old woman just the other day and she told me, 'you know when I was born women couldn't vote. I want to see a woman elected President before I die.'" Now Hillary has told that story literally at least TEN TIMES now. That story does NOT say vote for me because I'm experienced, strong or will be a good leader. That story says vote for me because I'm a WOMAN and we don't want this other WOMAN to die without seeing a WOMAN President. Rush Limbaugh actually had a good term for it. Hillary is bipolitical. She wants to be TREATED as a man and VIEWED as a woman. Again NONE of the other campaigns have brought up Hillary's gender. SHE HAS!!! And she wants the benefit of being able to claim persecution for an issue SHE brought up!!! Last edited by wilthrill; 01-14-2008 at 02:19 PM. |
