Rep Power: 46 ![]() | DemoWimps and "Right-wing" Hurricanes http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/27/wa...rssnyt&emc=rss Turns out that the top democrat canidates are too scared to debate on Fox. What's wrong Wimpocrats? Republicans have been debating on liberal networks (ABC,CBS, NBC, CNN etc) for decades now? Are you too afraid Chris Wallace (hardly a conservative) will ask too hard a question? Are you afraid that Fox actually has an AUDIENCE and so a sizable number of people may actually see what you say? This is from the Washington Times: " Hurricane Rush A left-leaning county commission in Florida wants to stop broadcasting emergency hurricane information on one of the region's top AM stations because it broadcasts Rush Limbaugh's nationally syndicated talk-radio program. The Fort Lauderdale-based Sun-Sentinel newspaper reports that Broward County's all-Democrat commission ignored the recommendation of its emergency planners and did not renew a deal that had made radio station WIOD-610 AM the official station for emergency information from the county government for the past year. Judy Sarver, the county's public communications director, said she and other emergency planners wanted WIOD because of its signal strength, numerous FM sister stations and willingness to give Broward County top play, rather than Miami-Dade County. The deal guaranteed that news conferences from the county Emergency Operations Center in Plantation would be broadcast live and uncut. But Commissioner Stacy Ritter said she would not support a station that aired Mr. Limbaugh and fellow conservative host Sean Hannity, and had a partnership with Fox News. "They have every right to speak, but we don't have to do business with them," she said. Oh, and so now the patron saints of free speech (as long as you agree with them) are going to deny Broward county residents the STRONGEST radio signal to braodcast EMERGENCY messages because they are afraid someone might listen to Limbaugh or Hannity? I can see it now. Johnny and Susie Goodliberal's roof is being blown off in a hurricane. Johnny says to Susie, "honey, turn on the radio and see if we can get any potentially LIFESAVING info." Susie replies, "but honey that station plays Rush Limbaugh". Johnny says, "Oh well I'd rather be dead". And so two good liberals perish. You know it sounds stupid but these are the same people who in 2000 thought Gore was spelled BUCHANAN!!! |

Rep Power: 45 ![]() | I'd hate to have to listen to Rush or Hannity. But, if there's a hurricane, it's the weather info that's going to be on the air-not them. The station with the strongest signal is going to be able to get life-saving info to more people.

Rep Power: 46 ![]() | Thank you for some common sense Mikael. Ironically the residents of Broward county feel the same way we do and have barraged the commisioners' office with complaints so now the DEMOCRAT commisioners (they are ALL democrat in Broward) have backed down. But it does beg the question, WHO (Dems or Reps) wantsd to silence your free speech? Let's see Politically correct speech = yep that's democrats "Fairness doctrine" (aka silence speech we disagree with) = yep, it's democrats McCain/Feingold campaing finance "reform" = well McCain is a RINO (true republicans hate him) Feingold was a democrat and the bill was supported by DEMOCRATS. Don Imus getting fired for stupid comments = Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson two DEMOCRATS. You know when I was a kid liberals claim to support the first amendment. How times have changed.... |
