We've discussed McCain here before, and while I do appreciate his service to our country, I despise the fact that he's tried to push the amnesty agenda not once, but twice.
Bush just endorsed him and now some people are calling him "McSame".

Bush endorsed him so that it would look like he knew nothing about the upcoming nationwide crisis that will result in bush remaining president under martial law.

C'mon... Bush endorsed him because he's the republican nominee... that's common practice... just as McCain has gained almost all the 'former' runners endorsements as well...

It's a two party system. Pick one. An independent vote is a non-factor.

I'll stick with the non-factor independent. As long as zionist, cfr member, communist candidates are running for the 2 parties. I'm tired of losing my rights and watching my country go to shit.

Well it IS a two-party system but when both parties throw up the SAME candidates those of us who call ourselves conservatives and speak at length about how we support IDEAS not party have a choice.

We can ignore our own pronouncements, support someone just because they are republican (or not democrat) and REINFORCE the same behavior we complain about. Nothing changes and we sow the seeds of our own destruction all the while complaining about that which we have done. In the future dictionaries will have our picture next to the word HYPOCRITE.

OR

We can bite the bullet, live up to what we say, and lose ONE election. The country will, at least temporarily, suffer but we will have a chance 2 years down the road and 4 years down the road to correct and the losing party, if they are actually paying attention and concerned about winning future elections, will see their mistake and nominate a REAL conservative next time.

I pick the second and so I will "waste" my presidential vote on a third party.

The other so-called conservatives can "waste" their vote reaffirming their hypocrisy and a broken system!!!!

I really admire you for that, Wil. Most conservatives are going to be hypocrites and vote McCain because he's a Republican.

Ambergirl, Ron Paul is a congressman from Texas who was running for the republican nomination. I say "was" because apparently McCan't has sewn up the republican nomination.

Paul's platform was the incredibly "crazy" notion that the US Constitution actually means something and thus should be followed by our leaders. This of course meant that he was treated HORRIBLY by the drive-by media which apparently even includes FOX NEWS. I disagreed with Paul on foreign policy because he seems to think we should withdraw from the world and I don't think we can afford to. BUT he was far better than any of the mainstream candidates on domestic issues especially taxation and spending. The last I heard he was somewhere near 4% or so in the polls although he has a pretty strong presence on the internet and in my neck of the woods, Nashville, Tn, you see Ron Paul signs in a lot of places like interstate overpasses.

If he is still on the ballot as an independent or third party I am going to vote for him.

Oh and ps, I may "waste" my vote for president but I am NOT wasting my vote. I WILL vote in every congressional race etc that I can and I will vote for the most CONSERVATIVE person possible. We may have lost the presidency but there is still congress.

I'm with you on this Will, Surely there is a 3rd party conservative running. Those outside the 2 parties get virtually zero press.

Ambergirl - heres a classic video from ron paul.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLV7zDhKzDY

He has a profile on myspace, the official website is www.ronpaul2008.com there is a forum at www.ronpaulforums.com (prob the best place for info)

He realizes he doesn't have a chance at the nomination, but is still in the race just to spread the message, hoping to enlighten more people.

From the little research I've done, I find him to be a very principled person who is not afraid to call out these politicians who are selling us out.
