Do the Iraqis DESERVE our sacrifice?

Ok we've argued back and forth on the Iraq war. I think most of you know my position. I supported removing Saddam and taking a gamble that we could turn a bulwark middle-eatern country into a functioning democracy. THIS would devastate our enemy who has made it clear that Iraq is a central battlefield.

However when watching Clone 9 on Hardball the guy after him had an excellent question which has made me rethink. He basically asked if American soldiers were dying to prevent Iraqis from killing each other?

So I started thinking. You know we have been "training" their "security forces" for over two years now. Back during the early 90's in southern mississippi I went through police officer training. We spent 4 hours each monday night for twelve weeks and it was pretty good training. I wasn't some delta-force SWAT member or something but we did learn the basics (crowd control, car stops, use of firearms etc). And this was 4 hours a week for twelve weeks. THE IRAQIS HAVE HAD TWO YEARS!! What is the problem?

Well then I heard that the Iraqi government was planning a TWO MONTH VACATION! The following is an EXCELLENT article on the subject.

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=20590

I supported Bush in going to Iraq. I think he has failed miserably in that he is too afraid to actually allow our soldiers to FIGHT this war and kill people. That was bad enough but now it appears, from what I see, that the Iraqis themselves want us to do all of the heavy lifting. THEY DON'T DESERVE the sacrifices we are making.

WHY SHOULDN'T WE TURN THE MESS OVER TO THEM? WHY SHOULD 150,000 American troops be in Iraq next year?

as much as i hate to advocate either party, since i really dont like or trust either, this is what the democrats were acting like they wanted. the timetables they were trying to implement were designed to push the iraqi goverment into doing what they shouldve been doing all along, governing their own country and taking care of their own problem.
Ive often equated our troops over their as exterminators. they went and got rid of the queen ant, but the iraqis keep leaving food on the floor so all of the other ants keep coming in.
it really is time for the iraqi government to start cleaning their own floors and keeping the ants out on their own.

i think bushs other problem is that he's trying to push his way of thinking on people not only dont want, they wouldnt know what to do with it, that being his form of democracy. the iraqi people, along with many other middle eastern countries, have no clue what to do with democracy, its not how their minds work...never has been. in another hundred years, maybe, not yet
the one thing i find funny (not funny hah hah, funny queer mmm hmmm) is that when the palestinians held democratic elections, they voted in hamas....this is what the majority of the palestinian people wanted. bush didnt like the results, so he didnt recognize them.

So what do you guys think would happen if we pulled all of our soldiers out of Iraq?
I'm not sure if the Iraqi government deserves our support, but how would we deal with the power vaccuum that would be created when we pulled out?
Not too many countries would back us up if Iran annexed the Shiite portion of Iraq and then went on to slaughter all the Sunnis.

The question was not - what will happen to the Iraq gov. or whether we should pull out or not.
The question was whether or not the Iraqi's deserve our sacrafice.
The answer is no.

If you put it that way-I agree. They don't.

clone9 thinks they are the cool kid
NO

they don't deserve our 'sacrifice' but the less arrogant question would be 'do the Iraqis deserve to be murdered for no god damned reason other than to make Dubya's oil pals rich and to settle papa's score with Saddam?"
