Yes, I mean they aren't NOW!!!

Of course christianity has a mixed history. Of course christians have at the behest of their church killed people etc.

But somehow they have moved beyond that kind of savagery.

Unfortunately the Muslims have not. I WISH THEY HAD. It was so much simpler when I could believe that pretty much all religions were equal.

But they haven't and I choose to deal with REALITY which is that the muslims are set on destroying us, which is why it DOES MATTER that some want to APPEASE them.

Wow. You really believe that, too. If all Muslims thought like the radical, Islamofacist Muslims; we'd be fighting over a billion people right now, and we'd get no oil from our buddies in Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

Of course "all muslims" don't think like the radicals. But the ones who don't have allowed their religion to be hijacked by the ones that do.

So.....

either the "moderate" muslims had better take back their religion

or

we will have to defeat it (and probably at great cost to the "moderate muslims") or be killed.

Moderates haven't allowed anything like that. You just don't hear about them on the news because they're not nearly as news worthy as the Islamofascists who blow themselves and others up.

Either moderate muslims have allowed their religion to be hijacked by terrorists or the moderates are the terrorists because their religion is condoning savagery. Their religion IS blowing up people and things.

I don't hear about moderate muslims in the news because they are DEAD FUCKING SILENT!

Think about it man....

WHAT is the image the drive-by media is trying so hard to convey about Islam?

The message is that "Islam is a religion of peace".

THIS is the same media that covered Cindy Sheehan "demonstrations" when she and roughly TEN other people were camping out at Bush's Crawford, Tx ranch and yet you would have us believe that the "moderate muslims" have been demonstrating and can't get any press?????

If you could get TEN muslims together, in public, to wave AMERICAN flags and denounce the latest act of terrorism, the drive-bys would cover that 24-7. Hell, for the next DECADE we'd be seeing clips of that as PROOF, that Islam is peaceful and it is only a few nutjobs giving it a bad name.

YOU CAN'T GET TEN MUSLIMS TO GO PUBLIC AND DENOUNCE THE TERRORISTS BUT AT THE DROP OF A HAT YOU CAN GET 10,000 TO GO PUBLIC AND CALL FOR THE DEATH OF A DANISH CARTOONIST!!!!

So by you not standing against radical, Evangelical Christians, you are in turn allowing your religion to be hijacked, and are therefore equally complicit in any act that a Christian shall commit.
You are also at fault for not making sure that other Christians protect life at the cost of their own in order to live the teachings of Jesus. Am I making sense with your interpretation of religion here?

First of all, evangelical Christianity is not my religion (you must have posted this before you accused me in another thread of being Jewish). For the record I'm agnostic.

But taking your analogy at face value, if radical christians were blowing up women and children and when asked about it I justified it then YES I would be allowing my religion to be hijacked. If my religion sanctioned teaching 5 year-olds that it was glorious to be a suicide bomber and kill innocents and I didn't speak against it then YES I would be allowing my religion to be hijacked. I would NOT be "equally complicit" with the terrorists. Somehow I think the guy who actually KILLS people is more complicit than the one's who refused to speak up against him. But by the same token, if I were enabling, supporting and praising the TERRORISTS I wouldn't be that surprised if the ones the terrorists want to kill actually tried to kill the terrorists and I got caught in the crossfire.

Christianity has its problems to be sure. But it is not nearly as problematic as Islam in today's world. I disagree with the Christians but Christians are not suicide bombing ANYONE! There is a difference!

I mean honestly Mikael surely you don't think all religions are equal????

What about Christian Identity (aka Aryan nations white supremacist all non-"Aryans" are "mud people" and will have to be killed in the coming race war)? ARE THEY A "RELIGION OF PEACE"??? Should we accommodate their blatant racism?

That's the thing: most Muslims aren't supporting what the radicals are doing, just like I'm sure you or I wouldn't support the Spanish Inquisition.

I just want to say that it's ludicrous for people to be fighting over what to call their Higher Power. I'll call him God, you call him Allah. If His meaning is different in each of our hearts, does it really matter if what we call Him is the same?
