global warming...fact or fiction

global warming is a fact. however its not being caused solely by man and and the car exhaust emissions. its actually a naturally occurring cycle. and heres an interesting little tidbit......this year is the 2nd warmest summer in recorded history. the warmest recorded year was sometime in the 1600's.....what was different about then and now?

Foiled by the musical fruit again! Bert you are out of control!

This whole topic is kind of speculative isn't it? Science can't even really put their finger on it. We can't possibly have helped the situation, but we're working with a very limited knowledge base when we're talking about tracking global occurences over a period of ages. My vote is we're the main cause if I have to come up with an opinion, but what the fuck do I know?

well thats what most of the politicians would have you believe. but were a very small part of the problem. one of the main reasons was the flare up of sunspots a few years ago.....that was actually a main cause of our brutal hurricane season in '05. this year we have a pretty powerful el nino going on. a few years ago we had an asteroid blow up in the atmosphere. and the sun itself is going thru a cycle of getting warmer, which is effecting the whole solar system.

dont get me wrong, im all for going green and taking care of the environment. however, we have to focus and prepare for what it really is...an earth cycle. its done this many times before, and itll do it again after this time.

heres another interesting little tid bit. when the earthquake that caused the major tsunami in the indian ocean a couple of years ago happened, it was so massive that it caused the earth to wobble on its axis by a few degrees. this caused huge fluctuations in the jet stream and even our gravity.....this also contributed our weird weather patterns.....along with several volcano eruptions etc etc etc.......point being that all of these climate changes that weve been seeing, and will continue to see, are totally natural....despite what al gore and his personal scientists will try to tell you.

So having a protective "Ozone Layer" being depleted by these "greenhouse" gases means that we aren't contributing to the problem?

not quite. the ozone layer works on a cycle too. plus the ozone layer is often depleted by volcanic eruptions....then it heals itself. my point is that were focusing on the wrong things here. im sure were not helping the situation, and being more energy and environmentally conscious is never a bad idea.....but global warming is a natural occurence...and we should prepare for it as such

I had two engineers tell me that we were like "little gnats" on this planet.
They said that we are not causing any problems for the Ozone Layer; they said it works on cycles.

I think that the toxic fumes/gases we release go somewhere. They have to have SOME affect.

But I also think the Earth has her cycles and weather patterns as well.

Who knows.
Why not clean up....what can it hurt?
