Iran drops the dollar

Iran will no longer accept the dollar. Hope others don't follow, or our moneys going to be worthless.

It has nothing to do with neo-con propaganda. Israel now demands they want our taxdollars converted to euros before given to them also. Soon Euros will be the world standard instead of dollars.

Is there any gold in fort knox anymore?? I doubt it compares to the amount of currency in circulation anyway.

You're right, there's not enough gold in Fort Knox to cover the amount of dollars in circulation. I forget what year we went off the gold standard. Truthfully, it could get to the point where the U.S. dollar is so undervalued we need to get back on the gold standard. The good thing is that tourism benefits from a weaker dollar. Europeans can finally afford to come here for vacation.

If I'm not mistaken we went off the gold standard in 1973.

Our current problem with the value of the dollar are linked to the chinese and our horrible imbalance of trade with them.

Think about it folks. Our economy is MUCH STRONGER than that of all Europe COMBINED and yet the "euro" is seen as more stable than the dollar??????

China does hold a lot of our debt-which is why they don't want war with us. Yet, I mean.

I guess it's just like a company thats losing money. sit back and watch the stock price drop until they reverse the trend or go bankrupt.
