This is where I have to say, an oppinion is just that, an oppinion. Its not true or false. It just is. Why can't we all just get along. Kiss and make up. Make love not war????

Ok ambergirl let's run with that "opinion is just an opinion".

The US treats it's prisoners as badly as Nazi Germany treated the jews.

That IS an opinion. Is it even remotely VALID??????

Opinions don't have to be valid, unfortunately...but there is such thing as 'agreeing to disagree' and that's something I wish could happen more often on this board...if we're going to discuss such 'nerve-hitting' topics, we have to expect some difference of opinion...

I, personally, am very patriotic. I love America and I do cry when I hear the national anthem (ok...so yeah, I cry a lot...shut up) I have three best friends with husbands in either Iraq or Afganastan (yes, there ARE still troops there, how quickly we forget) and my very best friend (since I was 2)is fighting in Iraq... Do I think we're the 'bad guy' in all cases? No... I hear how much we've done to help that country, we're not the bad guys there, no matter what people back here want to say...but do I think we think our shit don't stink...yes... I think we have developed a false sense of security that 911 didn't even break. If you want to go ahead and say that that's not patriotic, go ahead. I've been called worse... but my point is... we can't be perfect..and we can't fix what the US did in the past...move on...it's the present...fight for a better country... We can't change our past...only our future.

Like I said an opinion doesn't have to be true. That applies to validity also. And I agree with Lisha, we can agree to disagree and get on with other things.

And in the eyes of the prisoner yes they could very well feel they have been treated worse or with the same ill motive as the jews. Did you know it wasn't jusy jews and jew sympathist (sp) that were in those concentration camps? There were Jehovah Witnesses in there too. Weird huh?
