Well Pitboss I separate it out into two categories.

How did McCain act in Vietnam and how did he act AFTER?

With respect to while he was in Vietnam, I give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He like others was tortured. He did or did not break and he DID turn down an early release. Based on that I, a chair jockey, really have NO RIGHT to question him. Some of his "brothers in arms" may question him but I didn't suffer like that, have no idea how I would handle it and thus am not going to criticize him.

Now AFTER HE CAME BACK is a different story. As your link pointed out why was McCain trying to CRIMINALLY PROSECUTE veterans and their families who were trying to get answers about their loved ones? Why did McCain walk up and HUG the guy who ordered his torture as well as that of his comrades at the Hanoi Hilton? Why has McCain consistently denied what we ALL know, namely that the US left POW's behind?

But a bigger question for me (only because it is more recent and McCain has taken to lecturing us on campaign finance and Jack Abramoff) is why NO ONE (except me) wants to mention the Keating Five Scandal. McCain was one of the FIVE senators who took campaign contributions from Charles Keating. McCain, along with the others, looked the other way while Keating IGNORED banking laws with respect to his S&L called Lincoln. Lincoln went belly up costing the taxpayers somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 MILLION dollars.

And this is the man who is going to lecture us on Jack Abramoff and campaign finance? This is the man who passed McCain/Feingold Campaign Finance Reform which did away with the 1st Amendment within 60 days of an election?

I like to think I'm a pretty smart guy but I'm not THAT smart. If I know it you can bet your ass that so does Hillary and thus so does the mainstream press.

And you can also bet that the drive-by media's "honeymoon" with McCain will end the very moment he gets the nomination and the Keating Five Scandal will "suddenly" become news again.

I really don't think McCain will get the nomination but if he does, watch and you will see that NostraWilthrill was correct. Shortly thereafter you will see NostraWilthrill vote FOR Hillary and the earth will spin off it's axis as the end will be nigh!!!!

I second Will's prophecy. If McCain gets rolling, all you read on that site will be broadcast on the news, most likely the night before a make or break election.

I'd love to be wrong but yes I think Hillary will win the dem nomination.

But regardless, the drive-by media's "honeymoon" with McCain will be over the day he wins the nomination (which I don't believe he will do).

I've read that McCain was born in Panama. His parents were both US citizens, but I remember the rule being that you had to be born on US soil to be able to hold the office of president. I'm sure they've found a loophole somewhere.
