I honestly have not kept up with Mississippi politics in a long time. I mostly pay attention to the politics affecting the A-76 decision on base because that is the program that has kept me here for so long. We are on a 30 day public appeal wait and if that goes through with flying colors, we should know approximately when we get orders out of here shortly after that. The transition period won't be until at least next spring but it is better than not knowing.

I should read up on Mississippi politcs more since I am from here but I am kind of lazy when it comes to that.

I do admire those like yourself who get involved with local politics and try to make a difference.

I do not vote. I unfortunately lost that right a few years ago. I still voice my opinion when I can but unfortunately, I can't use the right to vote to make a difference in what I believe in.

Does Miss. still have a rebel flag in its state flag ? or did it get changed like Ga. ?

I think they only remove the ones the the KKK uses.

I've always felt that Mississippi politics were out of step with the rest of the country. I realize the coast is more progressive than the rest of the state, but I would like to see some innovative ideas.

The KKK is huge in North Central FL.
Waldo- Jacksonville.
I had friends growing up who's dad's were in it. The "Grand Dragon" lived down from my girlfriend's house and had armed guards outside his property line.

I pay attention to what Ocean Springs does, somewhat.
But I'm still a FL state resident, so I do not vote on any issues in Mississippi.
With that being said, I don't vote at all these days.
