BUT this school was set up to do just that!!!!

This school was set up as an accommodation to the religion of Islam. The founders TRY desperately to SAY that religion isn't involved but they ARE FULL OF SHIT! Of course religion (specifically Islam) IS involved.

For example do you think they are going to be serving HOT DOGS at that school cafeteria? Not eating pork is specific to MUSLIM, not Arab culture.

Do you think they may have a few "prayer breaks"? Observant MUSLIMS pray like five times per day. Secular Arabs don't!

SO WHY ARE WE ALLOWING A TAX PAYER FUNDED RELIGIOUS SCHOOL?

And can ANYONE give me ANY example of us doing this for ANY OTHER religion?

But making special rules and menus etc is EXACTLY WHAT this school was founded to do. This school was founded to be an accommodation to a specific religion (Islam) no matter what the idiot liberals who founded it say. A few question will PROVE my assertion:

Does anyone believe that the cafeteria will be serving HOT DOGS or any other pork? Secular arabs CAN eat pork. Muslims can't.

How much would any of you care to bet that the school will have prayer breaks? Secular arabs don't have to pray. Muslims do five times a day.

And finally the killer.... If, I as a christian, somehow manage to become a student (The fact that a christian is going to have a hard time getting in should make you question the school's purpose) do you think the school is going to allow me to pray, carry my bible and/or take good friday and christmas off?

TAX PAYER FUNDED SCHOOLS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ACCOMMODATING ONE RELIGION? Can any of YOU give me ANY EXAMPLE of ANY OTHER RELIGION that has a TAX PAYER FUNDED school?

Well, it's a fineline. It's supposed to be an Arabic school, where Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians can also attend. It's also now being heased by a Jewish woman. We shall see if that's actually true or not.

Would it be ok with you if I started a TAX PAYER FUNDED school for Aryan culture if I promised that Christian identity/white supremacy wouldn't be involved all the while I was accommodating Christian identity/white supremacy? (you know I let the students burn a cross at lunchtime etc)

I know that sentence is a mouthful but it is EXACTLY what is happening here. A TAXPAYER FUNDED school promoting "Arab culture" says it is not promoting a religion and yet I bet they get to pray to ALLAH several times a day. I bet the MENU is Islam approved. And I wonder what will happen the first time that alleged one Christian carries HIS HOLY BOOK to school? What happens when that one alleged Jew wants some accommodation for his religion?

I don't see it as a fine line at all!!!!

It is not specific to Arab culture either....

But you can't be seriously maintaining that this "school" won't be accommodating Islam.

Take prayer for example. Devout Muslims pray five times per day. As we learned from the Carver elementary story that I posted in another thread, these prayers have to be said at a certain time. For example, I know from my previous job that the Muslims have to pray at sunset.

So, I wonder how many of those prayers will occur during the school day (8:00AM - 3:00PM). Well, I bet serious money at least ONE of them will fall within the school day and I'd bet even more that the school will LEAD that prayer or at least break for it.

Now can you name me even ONE TAX PAYER FUNDED school that organizes it's breaks around ONE PARTICULAR RELIGION'S prayer times? Because we KNOW (the US Supreme Court has told us)that CHRISTIANS aren't allowed to lead prayer in school and school doesn't break just so the Christians can go pray.

And you know Mikael it really does come down to my example above. There is an offshoot of Christianity called Christian Identity (CI). CI teaches that the Aryans are the "pure" race and all others are "mud people". CI is popular in Idaho among the white supremacists. If you remember Ruby Ridge and the FBI gunning down Vicki Weaver as she stood on her porch holding her ten month-old daughter, the thing that brought Randy Weaver to the attention of the BATF was that he had once attended a CI church at an Aryan Nations compound. The BATF wanted Weaver to go undercover for them at the compound and he refused which is WHY they brought up the bullshit weapon's charge that led to the whole debacle. The point being that CI is a "real" religion no matter how stupid it might be.

So once again...

A charter school that gets some tax dollars in Hollywood, Fl is being prohibited from even teaching Hebrew because Hebrew is considered a religious language, never mind the non-practicing jews (a majority in Israel) who speak it.

SO on one hand we can't even teach a language because it is too religious and on the other we can teach a WHOLE culture that is inextricably intertwined with religion and EVEN ACCOMMODATE the religion. Will some of you multicultural types explain this to me?
