For those who haven't been following along in your hymnals...

The main sticking point with Iran has been their insistence on enriching uranium. Bush (aka warmongerer #1) had offered to supply the Iranians with enough enriched uranium to run the ONE NUCLEAR PLANT they have.

But now the Iranians are saying we have ANOTHER nuclear plant in the works and will STILL need to enrich uranium to run IT.

Now maybe the drive-bys just totally missed that one. Either that or the NIE missed it because this is the first time I've heard anything about it.

IF the NIE missed the EXISTENCE of another nuclear facility in the works, what else did they miss?

The NIE estimate is based almost entirely on an Iranian general who defected several months ago, and who may well have been sent to sow disinformation. The report was also0 spearheaded by a man who refused to enforce UN sanctions against Iraq when the inspectors were in there prior to the resumption of the war in 2003. Remember, that action was actually the end of a ceasefire; there was never an end to the Gulf War of 1991.

The NIE report is suspect to say the least...

Funny lerxtcat how the drive-bys missed that one also and in true drive-by fashion have refused to follow up at all on this story.
