Al Gore deserves it. Global Warming is an issue. A divisive issue, but one nonetheless. He deserves credit for taking a stand on this issue in such a public way. Can anyone name a more deserving candidate?
True, Wil, he may use more energy and leave a larger carbon footprint than most of us, but he's nothing compared to people in his income bracket.

Of course the day AFTER I post that-I see on MSNBC that Gore's utility bills were over $30k in 2006! I guess if you have the money, it's okay to live the way you want-as long as you can use your power and influence to pressure the general population to make the cutbacks you won't.

And I guess now we give credit "for taking a stand" when one complains about conduct all the while commiting more of it than those he is complaining about.

As I said earlier, if Al Gore gets a pass for his ACTIONS due to the fact that he donates to enviro causes and TALKS about it a lot then if Hitler would have just donated to the Jewish Defense League then he wouldn't have been an anti-semite!!!

Not quite the same. Al Gore never invaded countries, inspired hatred (to anyone other than himself), or took methamphetamines. And as a side note, Wil, Arabs are "Semites" as well. It's in the Bible, right after Noah, the flood, and his progeny, some of which eventually became Arabs. As we know, Hitler and the Nazis used and influenced Muslim misunderstanding of their own religion to insight hatred against the Jews (Catholics are REALLY antisemitic) to serve their own political ambitions and inspire Islamic uprisings during WWII.
Anyways, my point is-Hitler was not antisemitic, per se. Since Muslims (Not ALL!) were allied with Germany. But, don't forget Hitler was a drug addled piece of waste!
Now keeping this in mind; who in their right mind would compare Gore to Hitler?

We can't even prove that man made global warming is happening! And would someone please tell me what this topic has to do with peace. If the two choices for the prize came down to Gore and Limbaugh, Limbaugh in a landslide.

In February 2007, the legal firm Landmark Legal Foundation announced that it made an unsolicited nomination of Limbaugh for the Nobel Peace Prize [50] for his "nearly two decades of tireless efforts to promote liberty, equality and opportunity for all humankind, regardless of race, creed, economic stratum or national origin. These are the only real cornerstones of just and lasting peace throughout the world,"

So basically Rush is being nominated for nothing more than talking. On the other hand, Gore used a little more effort and made a movie. That is a tough decision, being that with a little research, you find they're both a little hypocritical. I can't say which I favor.

Limbaugh expounds ideas, Gore is just scamming the public. Why? I do not know yet. If he decides to run for President then I guess we'll know.

Well Mikael, I thought it pretty clear from my post that the comparison was the HYPOCRICY of Gore (lecturing others about pollution while he pollutes 20 times what they do) versus the HYPOCRICY of calling Hitler NOT an anti-semite (given that he killed roughly six million jews). Obviously Gore hasn't invaded any countries, started a world war etc. But Gore IS just as hypocritical as anyone who would maintain the Hilter was NOT anti-semetic (oh and BTW, thanks for your etymology lesson on the word anti-semite. You know damn well that the current usage of the word is to indicate one who does not like jews. I could use the words jew-hater if you want).

So in light of this I am changing my Hitler comparison. Based on the Gore-carbon-offsets-"logic", Hitler most definitely was NOT an anti-semite! Gore pays himself to pollute and he's an environmentalist so when Hitler paid himself (he was the head of the German gov't) to kill jews he became a Zionist!!!
