Rep Power: 41 ![]() | Obama I was just looking into this guy, since I'd never heard of him until recently. When I did a search, had this link for his church http://www.tucc.org/about.htm said Oprah goes there too. Sounds like a racist church to me......opinions?? |

Rep Power: 34 ![]() | anytime you have any sort of segregation, no matter how "harmless", it's racism. With that being said, I think there may be times where racism isn't "harmfull". |

Rep Power: 46 ![]() | How would this church be racist? Do they advocate that African-American Christians are superior? Do they openly discriminate against other religions? Are they hateful and intolerant of others whom are not like them? In my eyes, they are a Christian organization whose main purpose is to unite the African-American community with a strong, positive commitment to family, education, ethics and their ancestry. I see no racism in that. And for the record, the more I learn about Obama, the more I like him. Now... if I would vote for him as President, that I don't know yet. We have so much further to go before I make that decision.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() ![]() | "We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization." Maybe then he would be better suited as President of an African Nation? I don't care what color you are, but you had best have allegiance to this country if you want to be President of the United States of America. |

Rep Power: 41 ![]() | They're probably good people. . Theres that fine line with being proud of your heritage, culture, and all. It's just that double standard thingy. I just know that if a church had that statement with the words black, and African replaced with white, there'd be hell to pay. Aside from his lack of experience (which could be a good thing), this was the only possible negative thing I saw about the guy. I think he's got a shot anyway. |

Rep Power: 45 ![]() | I see no problem with what he said. Consider the dead presidents that were Slave Holders/Owners. Apparently they "spoke" for a nation, right? What's more important for Obama is quitting smoking at this point. He's already given up blow-I think he can do it!

For example... look at Abe Lincoln. Would he have been elected as President if his lifelong battle with depression had been exposed? If he were running today... probably not. But as it turns out, his depression actually fueled his astonishing success. In my opinion, Lincoln deserves more than just the penny and the 5 spot... he should get the C note, at least... haha*. I wonder how racial tensions would be today if Stephen A. Douglas had won the election, if Obama would even be considered as a presidential candidate? And just for the record, Lincoln was an improbable underdog in 1860. And haha! I wish Obama all the luck with the cancer sticks. I think he can do it, too! *EDIT

Racist. Again, racist isn't necessarily a four letter word. They may not be hurting anyone. I don't think they are by any means. If the sole purpose of something is because of race.... black & white (or yellow or whatever), it's racist. Ebony Magazine....BET......KKK......NAACP..... all based on race. Racist. Let's say I'm starting a WASP Christian Church here in Ocean Springs White Anglo Saxon Protestants only .....what do you think folks would say? I'm not saying that I personally have a problem with any of it. It's just a fact. | |
