Clockster, I'm getting tired of people like yourself telling me that I have to accept THIEVES (and these people are thieves. They steal identity (a felony for you and I) as well as health care, welfare etc). No, not everyone of them but enough of them do and people like you say that we just have to pay for it and shut up or we are racists. I don't hate mexicans. I hate THIEVES!!!

So Mother Theresa I publicly CHALLENGE you! Quit being generous with MY money and MY home! Let some of your "brothers and sisters" come live at YOUR HOUSE!! Why don't YOU pay for their meds etc and give them YOUR job as opposed to insisting that the rest of us do!!!!

Or are you only compassionate with other people's money????

No, I've never been fired for a Mexican or for anyone else either. And I have known a lot of Mexican people and some of them were the finest people I have ever met. Others were less than honest; they never "stole" anything, but were great at "finding" other people's stuff.

The immigration issue is not racist, it's about economics and national security.
Whatever we do, we need to do something besides what we do now, for many reasons, some of which are for these illegals. How many do you think die trying to cross in some desert area, where their coyotes spook and leave them? It happens all the time. Now if they KNOW they can't cross the land border, they won't be dying in the Arizona desert, will they?

It's lazy to make everything about racism, but that's the typical tactic for left wingers. When you demonize everyone who disagrees with you, then you're doing exactly what you accuswe them of doing. But I guess if it's PC to hate a group you're onboard, eh?

How does this debate even exist? Last I checked, this country has been open to those less fortunate who desire a better life and are ready to become Americans since the beginning.....

If I embezzel money from a charity instead of applying for their assistance, does that make me a criminal? Yes. It also makes the theft all the more deplorable because it exisits to help my ultimate goal in the first place!

My family came to this country, legally, in the 1950's. It was not easy for them, but they followed the rules and became citizens. They also flew the american flag and learned english. For me, that is the true meaning of immigration.
The situation today is the perfect example of "a few (million) bad apples...." I am more concerned for the future honest immigrant who will find it next to impossible to do what has been the most important thing for many families.

There is no "Real Solution" here. Our current President has not only shown he refuses to protect our borders, he's also unwilling to pardon two of our border patrol agents who were imprisoned for shooting a known Mexican drug smuggler in the ass.
I really understand Clockwork's position on this issue. I agree with him for the most part. But, we need to know who is coming into this country. We are at war, after all. This is one issue where we see the Bush admin. is full of shit. They expanded the government to include Homeland Security, yet all we've gotten is a colorcoded threat warning. Our borders could be infiltrated any given moment by a terrorist group.

I agree. We definately need more border security. I don't think this administration has done nearly enough on this issue. None of the administrations in the past few decades has done enough on this issue either. That's why we are where we are.

It's also possible that this 'border' issue will be solved by a NO Vote NO Debate inclusion of the U.S. into a Northern American Union. Guess what happens then? Mexico's shotty economy becomes ours, while the powers that be suck up all the profits.
