Sarah Silverman Sleeps With God

First, I haven't seen the Sarah Silverman show on Comedy Central. My 14 year-old insists it's funny as hell and he has a good sense of humor. I've seen the commercials and Ms Silverman is an attractive woman etc. In short I don't know her and have nothing against her.

She recently aired a show in which she slept with god and was trying to blow him off the next day.

Christians (I'm agnostic. I believe in god but all of the religions have too many contradictions etc) are going to be understandably offended so let Nostrawilthrill spell it outfor you.

Christians will complain loudly. They will probably boycott (Comedy Central and Silverman's advertisers). Some will demand that the show be taken off the air. Some may even actually be mad enough to show up somewhere with signs and protest.

The liberals and the drive-by media will proclaim them to be INTOLERANT, wanting to push their beliefs on others (how dare they refuse to economically support that which they oppose), bigotted, and probably anti-semitic (oops sorry, "jew-hater") to boot!!!

Two questions?

1. Does it strike anyone as strange that the SAME Comedy Central that would not run a 5 second scene of Mohammad walking (nothing offensive just walking with the Family Guy) from the season premiere South Park will run an entire skit devoted to someone FUCKING the christian god? No bias there???

2. To those who proclaim Islam to be a religion of peace, what would be happening RIGHT NOW if Ms Silverman had fucked Allah instead?

Allah and God are one and the same - the difference between Christianity and Islam is the Christians follow the teachings of Christ, and Muslims follow the word of Muhammed.

So yeah, I'm sure it pissed off quite a few Muslims as well.

Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in the same God who created Adam. They are probably all pissed, but, it's only comedy!
But, here, is a double-standard. Kind of like how Dave Chappel can say the "N word" , Carlos Mencia can say "Beaner", or gay comedians can joke about the "F word". Anyone who would protest would only end up looking like they are opposing Sarah Silverman as Jew, and not someone who depicted God in a distasteful way.
Having said that, Sarah gets a "pass" because she is cute and pretty damn funny.

To go off on a tangent, political correctness (liberal invention) is already running amock in society by keeping you from saying certain words (newspeak from 1984 Orwell) because someone may be offended. Mikael, this comment is not directed at you personally, I am only making an observation. You mention the "N-word" in your post. In my opinion, that is newspeak. Don't say nigger because someone may be offended. In my humble opinion, the use of the word nigger is only offensive if it is directed at someone or a group. To steal from your post "Kind of like how Dave Chappel can say nigger..." Now what is offensive about that? One is only making the observation that Chappel uses the word on his show. My whole point here is that Orwellian newspeak is taking place under our very noses and we are not recognizing it. Isiah Washington went to rehab, FRIEKEN REHAB, because he used the word faggot. Are you kidding me?!?!?! I agree that directing the words nigger and faggot at someone is vile and disgusting. (Well, if the guy is gay then it's mean. But if he's straight then it's funny) But what I disagree with is words like that be "off limits" no matter that the circumstance. That is newspeak in it's purest form! It starts small folks. First it's these words. Then another group will say they are offending by a word or phrase and we can't say that anymore. Where does it stop?
