Rep Power: 49 | | | Ok all of you liberals who've been dead silent on Sandy Burglar stealing classified docs from the national archives as well as Cold Cash Jefferson and Nancy Pelosi take notes.
THIS IS HOW A CONSISTENT PERSON RESPONDS WHEN SOMEONE ON HIS SIDE IS WRONG!!
Cheney is DEAD FUCKING WRONG!!! OBVIOUSLY, the vice-president is part of the executive branch and that executive order covered him. He should comply or be forced out of office. This is national security and not a case of "we should just trust him". IF he is violating any criminal laws he should be PROSECUTED!!! |

Rep Power: 49 | | | im not familiar with the sandy burglar case, but im with you on the jefferson case.....its bad enough that this guy got this huge amount of bribery money, but he diverted precious emergency resources from his drowning constituents to save his dirty money...any punishment that this man gets will be to lenient. as for nancy pelosi...democrat, republican, independent....theyre all crooks....they make their living from the blood, sweat, tears and other bodily fluids of the common man....i expect no less from any politician.

Rep Power: 49 | | | Ah.... but I notice a much GREATER reaction on THIS BOARD when it is a republican who does something wrong. When it is a republican you guys are all over him.
When a democrat does something wrong, I or Krafty Ken usually will start a thread and normally end up talking to ourselves. I gave three examples above.
Sandy Berger STOLE classified docs from the national archives. He was literally caught with them in his pants. He was given a slap on the wrist (NO JAIL TIME versus two years jail for Scooter Libby) and hasn't even complied with that (he was ordered to take a lie detector so we'd know which docs he stole. He hasn't even done that!!!). I started a thread on it to be greeted by the sound of crickets.
Nancy Pelosi came into office promising the most ethical congress ever. I pointed out that she started by trying to appoint one of her crooked cronies to a leadership post and has steadfastly refused to say anything bad about (much less demand his resignation) Cold Cash Jefferson. I also pointed out in another thread that she SPECIFICALLY EXEMPTED American Samoa from the min wage hike she and the dems were pushing. It turns out that Starfish Tuna (by far the largest employer on American Samoa) is headquarted in Nancy's district and has donated heavily to her campaigns. These threads were greeted by the "everyone does it" defense.
You guys know about Cold Cash Jefferson and hell two of you have even condemned him thus setting a record for the number of people on this thread other than I, Krafty Ken or Pitboss who are willing to publicly criticize democrats.
But just one more example for all of you guys that love to criticize Dead-eye Dick Cheney and Halliburton. Diane Feinstein has for years now been voting on military contracts to her HUSBAND's company. She was on a committee that decided which contractor would get the contract. Now all of you Halliburton hatas have been raising hell about their contracts and Dick Cheney for YEARS but Halliburton and Dick NEVER ONCE did anything so blatantly. Also remember California is a community property state so when Feinstein was VOTING those contracts to her husband she was LITERALLY voting them to HERSELF!!!! I started a thread on THIS and NONE of you had any comments.
Sooooo you have to excuse me if I say you guys are partisian. Maybe you're not but it sure looks that way. |

Rep Power: 49 | | | somtimes its a case of throwing pearls before swine. although we have very intelligent guys (generic form of a bunch of people, not gender specific) like yourself and mikael, ive noticed some of the more inane threads getting more responses. like i seem to remember something about hillary picking her campaign song, or is obama black enough (et al). i feel that i have put up some threads that could make for some interesting debates that were dead in the water the second they were posted, just as some of yours have.
for the record, i dont vote repub or dem.....i try to vote for the person who appears to be the least crooked....its growing exceedingly more difficult with every election i have to admit.

Rep Power: 48 | | | Wil, you'll notice I haven't been supporting Pilosi, or Dems in general lately. I'm with the demographic that gives this congress the worst rating ever.
As far as Cheney not "complying", Bush is the one who signed the executive order and says it was never met to be followed by the Vice President. And for what it's worth, Cheney can argue that he's the President of the Senate (legislative branch) and therefore, exempt from the order he was never intended to follow in the first place.
I really don't like Cheney and I'd like to see him out of office, but realistically, I don't believe it will happen.
Anyone care to talk about the Clintons being heavily invested in Exxon-Mobile during the time (and still) of the highest profits in history? Didn't Bill sign into law a bill that made it easier for oil companies to merge and monoplolize?

Rep Power: 49 | | | Well EVERY time I mention Clinton (even when he is in the news PUSHING FOR the Dubai Ports Deal) you guys ALWAYS say something like, "there you go bashing Clinton again."
For example when that ABC movie came out about 911 and the years preceding it (Clinton years) I was told that I was "hating on Clinton" and "he's not in office any more" nevermind the FACT that the movie was ABOUT the time he was in office and how his administration played down the threat.
As for Cheney he doesn't have a bunch of Clintonistas supporting him. Clinton could argue that it depends on what the word "is" means or I was never alone with Monica because there are other people in the world or a blow job isn't sex and the Clintonistas would and did buy it!
The vice-president IS an agency/office of the executive branch and unlike the Clintonistas there is NOTHING Cheney could say to change that. I suspect this isn't gaining traction because of immigration/betrayal. In other words we conservatives are a hell of a lot madder about Bush's betrayal on immigration. But if this does become news I can pretty much GUARANTEE that we conservatives) won't be arguing that the vice-president isn't in the executive branch. That's a clintonista argument!!!!! | | |
