You really should read the whole article. Basically you have two court decisions that say that if a public entity allows the display of any monument funded by the private sector, such as Ten Commandments monuments paid for by various organizations such as the Eagles, other groups must also be allowed to display any monuments they would choose.
Now at first glance that APPEARS reasonable enough until you ponder the implications. For example under this standard there would be NOTHING we could do to stop a group from putting up a 153 ft tall Statue of Tyranny right next to the Statue of Liberty. Or how about a monument to Adolph Hitler right across from the Holocaust museum?
