the only problem i have with wikipedia is that its written by ordinary, everyday people. and common knowledge isnt always a good thing....its often colored with opinion and twisted perception.

I understand what you are saying... but I also pay attention to the external links which can be quite useful.

Well a couple of things.

First the oath of office (aka photo-op) was really a non-issue. Assuming a congressperson was required to take an oath on a holy book (they are not. They are all sworn in at one time led by the Speaker of the House) I would HOPE that they would choose a book that actually MEANT something to them. Thus, one would expect a muslim to choose the Koran (or whatever the proper spelling is TODAY). I DO kind of wonder why the CONGRESSMAN made such a big deal over this what with having a special photo-op/ceremony to take an oath as opposed to just taking the oath like everyone else (the others don't swear on ANY book). But again it seems much ado about nothing to me. I'd be a hell of a lot more concerned with what the congressman actually DOES in office so we'll have to wait and see.
