What if we had not invaded Iraq?

What does everyone think?

My two cents: Saddam is still in power. At some point sanctions would come to and end and he would reconstitute his nuclear program. Why? Because the maniac next door whom he hates is also building the bomb. Talk about a triangle of death. 3 countries with the bomb that hate each other. Iraq hates Iran, Iran hates Iraq, both hate America. What are the odds of a nuke NOT going off somewhere? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, how about a nuclear armed Iraq-Iran alliance against America. I would't bet my money on it, but it can't be ruled out.

I know they don't like America, but I don't see Iran or Iraq as a threat to America. Maybe Israel has a little to worry about, but thats their problem...right??

Lol. The oil companies are more powerful than the president. The oil companies rule this country....always have....probably always will. The president doesn't control oil prices. If oil was the reason we invaded Iraq, we would've done it a long time ago. We would've had to deal with Saddam sooner or later anyway. Now the question is how do we end this thing? I don't know the answer to that one but it needs to be thought out carefully. More carefully thought out than invading in the first place.

And you're right, the president doesn't control gas prices, the people who own him and Bush do.

Get your collective heads out of your asses people. Read a newspaper, or several for that matter. Because I'm the kind of guy who loves to show off when he is right, and believe you me, I am going to rub it in when the economy collapses.

Maybe the people that say it makes you a dickhead are on to something. Just because you have an opinion and you believe it doesn't make it so. Don't get out much?....you're funny. The economy is going to be fine. I know you would like to see it fall, but it's not going to. Just a few weeks ago, the numbers were at an all time high...I didn't see you giving the administration credit for that, but when it's low it's all their fault. Then again maybe I'm wrong but then again maybe YOU need to read a paper and stop believing in those comic books that print in large letters for "special readers".

You live in your world...I'll live in mine....lol. You may be right. We might be heading for a "global world depression" by summer, but people have been saying we are heading for a depression every since Bush took office. I wouldn't believe everything I read. I'm not saying that everything is fine and dandy in the world. It's all fucked up that's for sure. I just disagree with your opinions...you are entitled to them just as I am entitled to mine. That doesn't mean your opinion is right....just as it doesn't mean mine is right either. We should be drilling for oil in our own country, but the left doesn't want to do that. Until we can reduce our dependency on oil, we will be run by oil companies. Alternate fuels are years and years away. The oil companies have been running things well before George Bush was in office...nothing has changed. It doesn't matter who the president in office is, gas prices will be placed the way the oil companies want them to be.

I hate all politicans. The higher up they go on the chain, the more corrupt they become. Bush is no different than the ones before him. Hell, even city aldermen are corrupt these days. Hopefully we won't go into a depression, but I don't know for certain....I have no facts to state we won't. But I also have no facts to say tomorrow is going to come either. Peace bro.........

People like to blame Bush for high oil prices. I did, too. Then I found out that Clinton is the one who signed the bill to make it easier for oil companies to merge and monopolize the market.
As for the war, I really don't see any way to avoid it. It hasn't been proven, but, I believe Iraq would eventually have been a threat to the U.S. How the war was handled, that's another story.

I agree. I think we would've had to deal with Iraq sooner or later. But the way the war has been handled has been a mess. But I don't know that in these modern times that a war could be handled good. War sucks.
