this is where I will be posting the reviews for the songs that I get. Please do not reply on this thread but go to the other thread titled cd reviews and put your comments there. I want to keep this thread clear for people to read the reviews.

Slap mike a cd review

Slap mike
Self titled ep

Overall this is an enjoyable cd to listen to. The songs have a lot of groove and feel to them. The first song, your name here, is very reminiscent of early Pearl Jam with growling vocals and flowing guitar lines. Gemini and overexposed also have that “Seattle” sound to them. The last song, Spark it, is a departure from that sound and has a very strong hook and smooth vocals. The songs are all very well written and the lyrics are better than most that you hear today. The only draw back to this is the mix. The guitars are buried at times and the vocals are a bit loud. I look forward to hearing more from these guys.

Good morning Julia

Good morning Julia
Self titled

There were no track listings on this CD for the Good Night Julia’s self titled EP. The first three songs are in the heavier vein of music and the musicianship is phenomenal. The music itself is as tight as I have ever heard from a band and the intricacies of the music are astounding. The screaming vocal style is a useful tool when used occasionally but I wasn’t really fond of it being used for the each song the whole song. I will say that the vocalist was very good at it though even if it wasn’t my favorite thing to hear. Bottom line is that the music is tight, professional and very well played
