Rep Power: 49 | | | cover/homage song suggestion? so we pretty much threw out our whole repertoire of songs and are starting over this year;
we've kept a couple we just couldn't live without, but we're really weening out the 'covers' this go round.
Would like to have a couple new ones though, and we're having a hard time selecting anything. There's not much recent music we're interested in, but I thought it would be good to work up something that's totally outside our frame of reference-
anything goes, pretty much. I'd love some input if anyone can think of any particular tunes we might be able to put a bit of an "Analog M" twist on...
any ideas?
so far we're looking at a Bob Dylan tune and a Daniel Lanois song~
but I'd like to get even farther away from the norm. www.myspace.com/analogmissionary |

Rep Power: 32 | | | The trend to the money is flowing through country music this year. Witness the booking schedule at the Hard Rock here on the coast,,,,,, and it's nation wide. Pick some influential songwriter you like and recondition a few. |

Rep Power: 49 | | | yeah, I've considered a country song or two, but I'm not very knowledgeable in that area... I think it'd be fun though.
We're not too worried about picking something popular or profitable, so far we've always gone by picking artists we respect and giving it a nudge or two. We've just kinda run out of them lately and are looking for some input from our friends, maybe something will come up that we hadn't considered before.
a buddy of mine has been begging for an Elvis or Neil Diamond offering. I'm trying to outdo him on the 'well, I didn't expect THAT' factor... |

Rep Power: 32 | | | Kristofferson, Towns VanZant, Hoyt Axton, David Lynn Jones, Jack Green, Shel Silverstein, Marcia Ball, Rodney Crowell, Steve Goodman, Willie, Tom T Hall on the country side and for pop writers Carlie Simon, Willis Allen Ramsey, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon.......... That's a deep catalog for arrangers to take to extremes. |

Rep Power: 49 | | | yeah, you're not kidding- I'm scared to wear mine to a gig.
we're going to try out a few new tunes tonight and see what happens.
I'm pitching an old Iron Maiden song, but I kind of expect it'll get the veto. |
