New Project: Save Reno

Hey guys, I've got a new music project I have been working on called Save Reno. I've got two songs up, they are rough demos that need some touching up, but you'll get the general idea. It'll only take up 6 minutes of your time (and that is if you listen to both songs). It may be a life changing experience.

P.S. I play guitar better than I sing...

I won't cuss you out if you hate it either... I promise.

Hey, it's a bit off topic, but...I was wondering how you got the name "Save Reno"..also, not many people know Reggie and the Full Effect, (I used to be good friends with James when he lived in KC and the Get Up Kids...kinda cool. LOL.

Good luck on your search

I like Reggie, I listen to a lot of Vagrant Records' bands. He made this video...

...which could possibly be the best video ever made. I worked at a record store that had "Get Well Soon" on an in store compilation cd, and I would put that song on repeat.

I got the name from a news story (sort of). I saw a Dateline story on this cult in Reno (I think they were an offshoot of the Mormon religion) who used all of their children as sex slaves for the elders. It was really sad. I wrote a song about it, the song wasn't all that great but the name stuck. Damn Dateline! I thought the name was pretty cool though.

So there you go. If you could arrange a meet up with James that would be awesome (j/k).

Thanks to everyone who checked it out.

dude I have a full service studio with every instrument available, if you want to redo the song with a live drummer, and all the other instruments, check out my live recordings at practice.
I could put (no offense to you) a real vocalist on the recording too.
I have done many local bands ep's, lp's,and demos.

No offense taken dude, I will be the first to admit that I am not a great singer. I may could get by doing some punk stuff, but that is about it.

I may check it out, I may have to do it later. I only have another month on the coast, and a lot to do before I move. I may hit you up if I make it down on vacation or something, it is good stuff to know. Finding drummers and bassers is hard in this area (and good singers, lots want to sing, few truly can).

Also if you do it for money I will let others know. I don't know if your schedule allows you to record too many others. Also, hit Jonathan up soon, he was asking me about studios on the coast. He is coming down in May/June and was interested in doing some recording. He was asking me about Jada E.

For now it will be my little Boss Micro BR and my Alesis HR-16. These are my first recordings, so they are rough, but I am learning more about it as I go along, and hopefully I will have some better quality stuff up soon. It's a lot of fun, and that is all I want out of it.

I work shift work so my hours are weird.
Plus I play in a band. Add that together, and it takes careful planning to do anything outside of what I have going on.
I'd love to do it. Will you be in town when Jonathon comes in town? His ex g/f Jackie, and my wife Heather went to school together, and we all used to hang out a little.
I know Jonathan, I am still in contact with him. His move to Ok seems to have improved his sex life...LOL

Jada - Overpriced. A great studio, and a pretty good mastering engineer.

When I don't have time I refer people to Makin' Trax in semmes.
Last time was like $50/hr
Johnny is about as country fried as one can get. He has a great studio, and all the tools to make a great recording.
Depending on what you want, perfection wise, you might bring in Chris Mara, he is a mastering genius.

Unfortunately, no. He complains that I am moving right before he actually comes back.

HAHA! Seriously, like yeah, the boy needed help (I tried), but yeah, he makes me proud at times

I liked them. They gave us a great deal after we tried out for Shooting Star, and they did a good job, unfortunately we didn't have time to finish a recording and had to cut our losses (it was only Jonathan and myself by then, we had to bring a drummer in).

We talked to Chris when we first started our band, I am glad he has had some success on the coast, he seems like a pretty cool guy. Unfortunately I never got to meet him, but from his posts on here he seems pretty helpful.

I do appreciate the help though, any advice music wise is always welcomed. I always told people I like going to shows because I always learn something. Even if it was to see some shitty artist at Bayfest that I had little interest in, they are in the business and there is possibly something to learn from them.

There's lots of crazies from Reno HAHA.

You know, I haven't talked to James in three years! I'll have to find out what's up...get his touring schedule, they were touring with My Chem, a few years back, caught a show in Reno before I moved... too many "Emo" kids running around though, I got drunk at the bar and went bowling HAHA

Oh yeah, I forgot, according to various sources on the internet he is dropping "Reggie" for a while and joining My Chem as their keyboardist full time. I hope this is not true, as I am eagerly anticipating the new "Reggie" album (which Vagrant deemed too "hardcore" for their tastes).
