Local MusicPost upcoming events/news/activities along the gulf coast here. Make some friends, go see a show and tell us what it was like. Pictures of bands/shows are encouraged.
Yeah, man - thanks for taking the time to stop by!
That was our first experience at The Celtic. What an interesting place. Actually, the place itself was cool. We just had a case of a few of the drunk redneck guys - you know, the ones that follow the band around inside, telling you about how they 'useta have this badass Gibson Stratablaster' and could make it sound jus like Lynyrd Skynyrd's guitar. Luckily, they cleared out fairly early, and we actually had a table full of friends back from the Mass Confusion days. The owner and staff were really nice, and the drinks were pretty good as well.
Skeeters was a hoot. They are actually starting to get a crowd in the for the bands, and we had people dancing and have a good time all night. This could be a good up-and-coming coast venue!
Yesterday we played a wedding at La Maison Gautier (The Old Place). A word of warning to anyone going here to play for or be in a wedding - bring your bug spray. The gnats are murder! And not that froo-froo smelling stuff like SkinTastic. That stuff may as well be Sweet and Sour Sauce for those little bastages. Bring Deep Woods Off or something with at least 25-30% DEET. I think I lost about a pint of blood yesterday...
Yeah, we had a lot of fun. Brian Powers sat in, with a nice set up of congas, bongos, and timbales. Would have been better if we not had to get up the next morning to set up for that wedding!
We will be playing the Spring Concert at Camp Shelby on Friday, Aprilt 20th @ 6pm, along with Southern Strategy and John Stone. I love MWR shows - nothing better than providing a little entertainment for our military members!
This Friday 4/13, we're playing at Skeeter's Billiards (formerly Jim Bob's Pool Hall). 10pm.
Then Saturday, we have the honor of playing Alex & Andrea's wedding!!
Sunday, we'll be at the City Park in Gautier from noon-4pm for the Wings Along the Bayou Festival, Gautier's stop on the Wild Wing River and Nature Festival. Acoustic style, of course!

Oh! I live RIGHT down the road! I'll be there Friday!
