Seeking bands: Mary C. O'Keefe Center, OS

The Mary C. O'Keefe Center in Ocean Springs is looking for bands a couple of weekends in the month of July to play on weekends. If you are a band you know is seeking an alternative venue, this is a good opportunity. The normal fees to rent the theater will be waived and you will be payed a large percentage of what is collected at the door.

If you are interested, the dates are July 11th, 12th, 18th, and 19th. Also, the Mary C. has the ability to record shows in multitrack, so if you are interested, that can be discussed as well.

I am not quite sure what you mean by that. We just would like to get some music stuff going on at the Mary C. so we are offering this opportunity for local bands to participate in a "summer series" type deal. The bands will play and make money if they get people to come. Because we are sponsoring it, we can waive all of the fees that are normally associated with renting out the theater. (about $600 or $700) We will also be advertising it with the city.

The theater at the Mary C. for those who are not aware, is a 400 seat venue with full sound with monitors and lights, etc. All the bands will have to provide is themselves and their instruments.

Gated events 101.... What is the price of a ticket, who sets it, and who counts the money first?

The price of tickets I think is open to negotiation as is the percentage. We just want bands playing, and we are looking to be pretty open about it.
