SONGWRITERS NIGHT @ THE JULEP now hosted by GINA TURNER

For at least the next couple of weeks I'll be hosting Songwriters Night at The Julep Room. It's absolutely the only night like it on the coast. For one night only, it's your stage to play your original music in a very cool setting. It's also a way to do some old school networking. I've got the platform...I just need some musicians. This is the one place on this night that cover songs are not even allowed. It used to be an unimaginably awesome thing...the best thing going...and it can be again. But that depends entirely on you. IT CAN BE WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE...ALL YOU HAVE TO IS BRING YOUR GUITAR.
Black metal to blues to polka...been playing for 5 days? 5 years?? 5 decades??? Bring it.

Not so much a need to reply to this thread...just come see what it's like.

I hope as you have a chance you will ALL come and see what this can do for a music scene...and a songwriter. It's a really awesome way to foster everybody's creativity.

The Julep is a 21 & up establishment...Sometimes that's a stringent rule and sometimes....I'd say ya never know til ya try.

It was and early crowd last night. It was standing room only by 11:00, and kinda drifted back to normal by midnight. 6 musicians (most of whom were new to me) of various genres came to play, which carried the night without having to break with the f***ing jukebox. This doesn't mean it will be like this everytime....

I'd say the biggest thing for everyone to remember about this kind of Songwriters Night is -- because it's NOT genre biased you may find yourself the only hard rock guy (or band) amid folk singers for a night...or vice versa

It's really cool when every person that plays brings a least a few people w/him...mixes the crowd, ya know?? But it's even cooler to see someone waaaaaaaay out of their element up there getting comfortable and working the crowd....and it rarely fails to make you some new fans. I love the social dynamic of it.
