Rep Power: 16 ![]() | Wow... controversy at the IP last night Well, last night, both Vysion and Stereohype put on a good show, with Vysion winning. A lot of people think it was rigged, I don't really think so, but I know that Kevin is in a tough spot right now regardless. My opinion, I really like both bands. The guys from Vysion are some of the coolest fucking guys I've met. But honestly, I think that Joshua Sun and Stereohype are the two best bands that play in our area right now, with the exception of CastorTroy. I said before that I would be satisfied with Vysion opening CPR Fest, but I really didn't think Stereohype would lose last night. I also thought all the booing was uncalled for when Vysion played an encore.

Rep Power: 46 ![]() | There is always controversy in such situations because winners cannot handle winning and losers cannot handle losing. And though that might not have been the case here, it just seems like these types of competitions never have a happy ending for anyone involved. It makes one wonder why there is a competition in the first place.

Rep Power: 46 ![]() | In fact, I seem to recall Joshua Sun getting booed after they beat Kiss The Cop at the catastrophe. No one is above ridicule it seems.

Rep Power: 46 ![]() | Well for the record I'd love to play CPR Fest. I've never had the honor, though. But no, it certainly isn't worth the price of one's dignity, nor is it worth the personal conflict that arises unfailingly as a result.

Rep Power: 51 ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just think it sucks that our on local crowd booed the winner when they were on stage. Element 55 got a bad reaction as well. Element 55 and Lazy Eye have the same manager. The way the crowd reacted to Element 55 is why she pulled Lazy Eye from the show. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I did not announce Kiss The Cop at the Catastrophe as the winner that year. I messed up at he finals but not at the Catastrophe. Also I cannot blame loyal fans to one band for booing a band that they are not fans with. I think it is a shitty attitude, but I do not blame them. Yes the rigged comment was being thrown around once again. I gave each band there judges sheets so they can see the point totals and comments from the judges. I did not hide anything from any of the bands. Unfortunately I am the face of the station in these events and I get most of the blame. I can handle it and the reason why is I am honest about everything. If you want to see your scores you can. If you do not want to see them that is your right as well. Stereohype put on a heck of the show. The crowd that was there was really into it, but as always I take crowd participation out of the judging. Undertoe Hopscotch was great as well. For a three piece with the style of music they play they are a great band. Vysion was also put on a show. It really sucks that you have to announce a winner when three great bands put on great shows. I have said this before I am not a fan of the competitions and I am really not a fan of me being the only one from the station that handles these shows, but I do what I am told to do and smile and do my best to keep everything fair. |

Rep Power: 46 ![]() | well it seems the real controversy to me is that some bands still think it is cool to intentionally misspell a word for their name. Personally I would never buy a ticket to see or buy an album from any band that did that.

Rep Power: 47 ![]() | First of all, there is no competition that could have a happy ending for all. There can only be one 1st place. This isn't little league baseball. we are not all winners. Second of all, what happened last year happened last year (although, damn this year went by fast) Third, like Kevin said, this isn't HIS BOTB. He is just the announcer. Fourth. I don't think it's the bands that get the shitty adittude...although, I am not back stage so there for I don't hear them talking about it. It is the so call fans that get shitty about it. And as a matter of fact, the only bitching I ever hear is from those who are not actually in the competition at all! |
