Its an output Attenuator, ie. Marshall power brake....THD Hot plate, Or Airbrake

It's similar to the Scholz Power Soak but THD makes a different one for 4, 8 and 16 ohms impedance, so you have to buy it to match your cabinet(s)' impedance. Supposedly the THD doesn't suck tone as much as the Schoz or the Marshall Power Brake. It's also a lot more expensive than the Scholz too!
