aaron is correct.
4-8 ohm speaker daisy chained = about 2 to 3 ohms.
(resistance varies. its usually higher that what you would figure.)
Split the cabinet into 2 sides = 2 - 4 ohm loads.

You'd be better off to wire it to 16 ohms per side. It'll be slightly less power output but better to be higher impedance than rated than lower. One is less power, the other fries the amp. |

4 - 8 ohm speakers run series/parallel = 8 ohms.
2 - 8 ohm speakers run parallel = 4 ohm.
2- 8 ohm speakers run series = 16 ohm
Jocko, you could just get 4 - 16 ohm speakers, run them parallel, and get 8 ohms a side.
Using what you already have, I thought you could still get 8 ohms per side running the 8 ohm speakers in series.
