Need to book an opening act....

Hello all. I am new to this area and I have a young band from Arkansas that is looking to come down this summer and travel along the coast and perform some shows.

I am looking to see if there are any bands here that would like to have an opening act for some of their shows. What I would like to do is get enough interested bands that I can schedule them a small coastal "tour" this summer. You can listen to this band on myspace at www.myspace.com/wavedropscholars We will provide some demo CD's if desired and merchandise at the shows to support the band but I would like to find other bands of the same genre that could offer a paying / opening gig.

Please let me know here so that I can get some scheduling started.

Thanks,
Chris B.

Yes. They are an all original band and what you actually hear on the Myspace account are early recordings. With just the guitarist and drummer with a single SM57 and a cheap studio mic. The acoustic version of DejaVu is really a full blown song so it isn't one that they pull out an acoustic to play live.

In Jonesboro there is a guitar store that has set up a stage and every other weekend has bands in to play. They regularly play there and usually draw a large crowd. The guy who owns the shop was in the last band I was in and is currently playing with Jimbo Mathus I believe.

WaveDropScholars also play in the Northeast Arkansas area and in Memphis at The Complex and The Stage Stop. Their live show is very good and the band plays very tight. Musically, they are one of the better bands in the area and always get a good response from the crowd and from other musicians.

Hey James, do you play around the area regularly? What I am looking to do is hopefully find some bands that have gigs and would like to have these guys play in front of them for a 30-45 minute set. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks,
CB
